Graphic Designer

Easy Signs is Australia’s fastest growing signage and wide format printing company, and we are looking for another awesome Junior Graphic Designer to join our current team!

What your day to day duties will include:

  1. Review customer provided artwork to ensure it is suitable for printing.
  2. Create artwork proofs and email them to our customers.
  3. Create signage designs from a customer supplied brief.
  4. Setup artwork files to strict specifications for our manufacturing equipment.
  5. Communicate with our sales team about jobs and also directly with our customers via phone and email.
  6. Be proofing, setting up and designing around 40 jobs a day. This is a fast paced role. Our designs are usually put together within 10 - 30 minutes.

A bit more about the company:

  1. We are growing, Fast! As such things are always changing and evolving, it doesn’t get boring!
  2. You will be supported by our amazing Customer Happiness Team and Production Team.
  3. In an industry that generally produces products in 5 days, we are paving the way forward with most of our products produced in only 24 hours. (Yes we run a night shift, we are only 20% magic).
  4. While we are a manufacturing business in Smeaton Grange, we have a very nice modern office environment!

Sounding like the perfect fit? Well here is what we need from you:

  1. Diploma of Graphic Design or relevant experience
  2. Advanced skills with Illustrator & Photoshop/
  3. You need to be very computer literate
  4. Great verbal and written communication skills
  5. Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure
  6. Ability to follow processes accurately
  7. Ability to think critically and have a creative approach to problem solving

There are two positions currently available within the team

Day Shift - The hours for this role are 10:30am - 7pm (Monday to Friday)The hourly rate is $30.83 + Super + Overtime

Afternoon Shift - The hours for this role are 1:30pm - 10pm (Monday to Friday)The hourly rate is $31.43 + Super + Overtime

About the role:
  • Research and develop new products through data collecting, prototyping and testing procedures ensuring all developments achieve a high standard of quality.

  • Accurately analyse data to generate reports providing valuable insights to ongoing and future Innovation Projects.

  • Continuously evaluate existing product and process workflows to identify areas for improvement.

  • Offer remote assistance and support to the US team on all relevant product and process-related issues.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in developing a product from concept to completion.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in identifying areas for improvement and providing effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Confidence in developing products in a 3D space.
  • Proficiency in numbers, including basic algebra.
  • Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting processes.
  • Excellent computer and spreadsheet literacy.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Goal-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and strong time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and autonomously.
  • Experience with Esko Automation Engine and Illustrator is highly favourable.
  • Education in areas such as Six Sigma, Engineering, and Product Development is highly favourable.

About the Role:

HP Indigo Print Operator

With strong foundations in both the Australian and U.S. markets, we continue to expand our reach, offering cutting-edge signage solutions to an ever-growing customer base across two continents.

As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a skilled Print Operator to join our dynamic team at our Smeaton Grange facility. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating our state-of-the-art HP Indigo Printer to produce high-quality print materials for our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operate and maintain the HP Indigo digital press to produce high-quality prints on a variety of small-format substrates, including paper, cardstock, and specialty materials.
  • Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot the HP Indigo press to ensure optimal print quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor print jobs throughout the production process to maintain consistent colour quality and accuracy.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the printer to ensure continuous, trouble-free operation.
  • Review job specifications, prepare files, and ensure correct materials and setup to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage print production schedules to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate major problems to technical staff when necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of production and machine usage, including waste and ink consumption.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience operating digital printing presses, preferably with HP Indigo printers or similar digital press systems.
  • Strong understanding of small-format printing processes, coloir management, and print materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
  • Familiarity with prepress software and file preparation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality prints.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience in a print production environment is a plus.
